How to grow Anthurium? Cultivation and reproduction methods of Anthurium

Anthurium has emerald green leaves, bright red flowers, and white stamens in the middle of the flowers. This plant has a beautiful and elegant appearance, rich fragrance, and a relatively long flowering period. It is the most popular ornamental plant in life. Many people also want to grow Anthurium themselves, but they don’t know how to grow this kind of plant. I will write down its cultivation method later, and tell you how to propagate Anthurium.

How to grow Anthurium? How to grow Anthurium

1. Moderate sunlight

Sunlight is an important condition for growing Anthurium. This plant likes sunlight but is afraid of strong light. It should be placed in a bright environment where it cannot be exposed to strong light. If it is placed under strong light, the leaves of Anthurium will be burned and may also become scorched.

2. Humidity and temperature

Anthurium likes a high temperature and high humidity environment. It will grow rapidly when the temperature exceeds 20 degrees, and requires the air humidity to be maintained above 60% during the growth period. If the indoor air is dry, you can increase the air humidity by spraying and watering. If the humidity is too high, you can increase ventilation to reduce the air humidity.

3. Change the pot in time

Anthurium grows very fast when it is cultivated. It is recommended to repot it in time. Normally, it should be repotted once a day in early spring. When repotting, not only should new soil be replaced, but all dead and old roots should be removed, and sufficient new base fertilizer should be applied. Anthurium can also be repotted in spring with division. The side plants with aerial roots can be cut off and planted in new pots. It can quickly form new plants.

Anthurium propagation method

Anthurium can usually be propagated by cuttings. People can cut off the strong old branches of the plant, remove the leaves at the bottom and leave two to four leaves on it, make it into cuttings about 20 cm in length, and then insert it directly into the seedbed at about 30 degrees. It will take root after two to three weeks, and can be transplanted into a new pot after it grows new leaves.
