How to grow water lilies

1. Division propagation

Tuberous water lilies can be propagated by division. You can choose to dig its rhizomes out of the mud in March or April every spring, then divide it into several pieces, and make sure that each rhizome has two buds, and then plant it in a tank or pond.

2. Pot soil preparation and planting

It is also important to prepare the potting soil before planting tuberous water lilies. You can choose to prepare the flower pots around the vernal equinox every year, then put in rotted bean cakes or bone meal, and then put in 30 cm thick fertile mud. Only then can you plant its rhizomes in, then cover them with soil to cover the top buds, then cover them with one centimeter thick coarse sand, and then add water.

3. Water management

After planting, blocky water lilies need to be watered in time. The water depth should be about 25 cm, and this depth should be maintained. If the water is insufficient, it should be replenished in time. In addition, after entering the hot weather, the water in the flowerpot must be kept clean. If the water in the pot becomes turbid, it should be replaced with new water in time. When changing water, you cannot directly use water from the tap. You should take out the water and put it in the pot to dry for two to three days before changing it to the flowerpot.

4. Sunlight and temperature

The block water lily is a light-loving plant. It should be placed in a sunny environment and kept well ventilated. The block water lily is cold-resistant. It can grow normally as long as the indoor temperature is not lower than 3 degrees. However, it is best to pour out the water in the flowerpot after winter, which is conducive to the safe wintering of the block water lily.
