Prevention and control of downy mildew of loofah

When we grow loofah, various diseases often occur. Here we will talk about how to prevent and control loofah downy mildew

Symptoms of downy mildew on loofah:

Downy mildew of loofah mainly harms leaves. In the early stage of the disease, irregular brown-green-yellow spots appear on the front of the leaves, gradually expanding into polygonal yellow-brown spots. When the humidity is high, a gray-black mold layer grows on the back of the spots. In the later stage, the spots are connected and the whole leaf dies. Recently, the production of loofah in many vegetable areas has been seriously damaged by downy mildew, resulting in numerous spots, dry leaves, premature aging of plants, bending, thin and aging of the melons, and a significant decrease in yield and quality.

Loofah downy mildew prevention and control methods:

To prevent and control downy mildew of loofah, we should select disease-resistant and excellent varieties, use nutrient pots to cultivate strong seedlings, prepare the beds to ensure good drainage, apply sufficient basal fertilizer, pay attention to vine pruning, ensure ventilation between plants, and more importantly, spray the medicine in time and use the right medicine for the right symptoms. Before and in the early stage of the disease, use protective drugs, such as 600-800 times of 75% Dashuangning, 500-700 times of thiophanate-methyl or thiophanate-methyl (40% suspension); during the disease period, we should spray therapeutic (and protective) drugs, such as 600-800 times of anti-virus frost (64% wettable powder), 800-1000 times of frost (55% wettable powder) or 72% wettable powder). Spray once every 7-10 days, and spray 3-5 times in a row depending on the condition, and pay attention to spraying the leaves and the back of the leaves evenly.
