However, it is not easy to plant lotus roots when cultivating lotus. You must master the correct planting method. Only in this way can the lotus grow normally. But how should the lotus roots be planted? The following editor will introduce it to you.

How to plant lotus root

1. Prepare flower pots and soil

Before planting bowl lotus, I must prepare the flower pots and soil. You can choose a flower pot with a diameter of 25 cm and a height of 30 cm, and then prepare an appropriate amount of silt. It should be noted that the silt cannot be used directly after it is brought back, as it contains a large number of bacteria and must be disinfected before the lotus roots can be planted.

2. Soil disinfection

After taking out the prepared silt, add it to the prepared soil and mix well, then add Xinjunling to detoxify. After disinfection, you can add some long-acting green fertilizers, or you can add decomposed chicken and duck manure or cake fertilizer as base fertilizer.

3. Choose the right lotus root

When planting lotus roots, you must choose suitable roots. The roots must not only be strong and disease-free, but also have grown lotus buds. If there are appropriate fibrous roots at the top of the lotus buds, it will be easiest for it to survive after planting.

4. Planting

When planting lotus roots, put the selected lotus roots in your hand, make sure the lotus root buds are facing upwards, and pay attention to the position of the lotus root tail, and never let water enter the lotus root tail. At this time, wrap the entire lotus root with silt. If the lotus root bud is too short, just cover it with silt, which will not affect its growth.

5. Post-planting management

After planting the lotus root, you cannot water it. You need to place the flower pot in the sun for a few days. After the surface is slightly dry, the lotus root inside can be integrated with the soil. At this time, you can add some moist soil and a small amount of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. In about fifteen days, the lotus root buds will grow and new leaves will grow.
