Plants that are not suitable for growing at home

In order to beautify the indoor environment and purify the indoor air, people usually like to grow some green plants at home, but not all plants are suitable for growing at home. Some foods are highly toxic and it is not safe to grow them at home. So which plants are not suitable for growing at home? I will tell you in detail in a moment.

1. Oleander

Oleander is a common ornamental plant. It has a strong fragrance and can absorb dust and poisonous gases in the air. However, the whole plant is poisonous. The fragrance of its flowers can cause people to experience adverse symptoms such as drowsiness and decreased intelligence. If people accidentally eat it with pig heads, they will experience nausea, vomiting, abnormal heart rate and other poisoning symptoms. Therefore, it is not suitable for growing at home.

2. Hydrangea

Hydrangea is also an ornamental plant that is not suitable for home cultivation. Although the plant has a variety of colors and is delicate and beautiful, the hydrangea and leaves of this plant are poisonous, and people are prone to allergies after contact. Especially after accidental ingestion, abdominal pain and skin pain, as well as weakness and other adverse symptoms will occur, and in severe cases, death may occur.

3. Tuberose

The plant tuberose is not suitable for home cultivation because its photosynthesis mostly takes place during the day, which consumes a large amount of oxygen in the air. At night, it emits a large amount of waste gas and toxic substances. People will experience adverse symptoms such as dizziness and chest tightness when surrounded by this rich floral fragrance. Especially those with hypertension and heart disease should not get close to tuberose.

4. Lycoris

Lycoris radiata is a very precious ornamental plant, but it is not suitable for cultivation at home. It contains the alkaloid lycophylla, which can cause vomiting and convulsions. In severe cases, it can directly affect people's central nervous system and sometimes endanger people's lives. Therefore, for the safety of your family, it is best not to cultivate Lycoris radiata at home.
