How to grow rootless rose stems? Cultivation methods of rootless roses

Many people want to keep roses alive for a long time after buying them, but they don't know how to plant these rootless rose stems, let alone how to keep them alive. In fact, the survival rate of rootless rose stems is very low. If you want to cultivate them, you must master certain methods and techniques. If you are interested, you can take a look at the detailed introduction made by the editor below.

Farming methods

When cultivating rootless rose stems, you only need to prepare a larger vase, put an appropriate amount of clean water in it, use scissors to cut an oblique opening at the bottom of the rose stem, and directly insert the rose petals into the water. Change the water every 3 to 5 days. You can add some nutrient solution and ferrous sulfate in the middle. This will allow the rose to have a name and will keep the rose on the top for more than 20 days. However, rootless roses will not grow new ones in the water, so their longest survival period will not exceed one month.

Reproduction method

1. Grafting method

Roses can be propagated by grafting. The simplest grafting method is direct grafting. You can graft two kinds of paper strips onto rose or magnolia rootstocks by cutting and snake grafting in spring every year. After a while, the rose branches will survive, and then you can transplant them into pots.

2. Layering method

When cultivating roses, you can also propagate them through layering. Layering should be done during the peak growth season of roses. When operating, you can press the rose branches down and then bend them into moist soil, leaving only one end sticking out of the soil. After the branches buried in the soil grow new roots, they can be cut and placed in new pots.

3. Division method

Roses can be propagated by division. Usually, you can take the vigorously growing roses out of the pots, cut the ones with new roots with a knife, and then use disinfectant. After disinfection, plant them directly in new pots and place them in a cool place to slow down the growth. After 6 to 7 days, the new roses will be successfully planted.
