Violet flower pictures and how to grow violet flowers

1. Preparation of violet potting soil

The most important step in growing violets is preparing potting soil. It likes loose, fertile, slightly acidic soil. Usually, you can mix six parts of leaf mold and four parts of sand together. You can also mix leaf mold and peat soil with one third each of sand.

2. Light and temperature for growing violets

When growing violets, you should pay attention to light regulation. They like to be in a semi-shaded environment and cannot be placed in strong light. However, when there is insufficient sunlight, they will also have adverse symptoms such as less flowering and dull color. In spring and autumn, you can put them in a sunny environment, and in summer, you should move them to a room with sufficient scattered light. Violets do not have high requirements for temperature during their growth period. It is best to grow them in an environment of about 20 degrees. If the temperature exceeds 27, they will grow poorly.

3. Fertilizer and water management for violet cultivation

Fertilizer and water management is also very important when growing violets. It likes a humid environment, but there should be no water accumulation, and water should not splash on the leaves when watering, otherwise the leaves will rot. Violets have high requirements for fertilizer during the growing season. They should be fertilized once a week. The fertilizer applied should be decomposed liquid fertilizer or compound fertilizer. After it grows flower buds, more phosphorus fertilizer should be applied, so that the violets can bloom large and bright flowers.
