How to graft Camellia with Vitex shanxi

1. Method of grafting camellia with Vitex shanxiong - Time

The best time to graft camellia is in late spring, early summer, or early autumn. If you choose to grow in the south, the best time is mid-May, when both camellia and chasteberry grow vigorously. You can choose chasteberry as the rootstock, as the temperature and scion time are the most suitable, and the rot rate will be reduced after grafting.

2. Method of grafting camellia with Vitex shanxiong - rootstock

Camellia can choose Chasteberry as the rootstock. The healthier and more vigorously growing branches with flower buds on the top are more suitable for scion objects, while Chasteberry can be used as the rootstock after being cut into single pieces.

3. Method of grafting camellia with Vitex shanxiong - Grafting

First, cut a camellia from the original mother plant as the scion, and then use a sharp knife to cut a section of the chasteberry as the rootstock. The skin on both sides of the scion must be completely peeled off and then cut into a wedge shape and inserted into the soil. Use the chasteberry as the rootstock and place it on the side.
