The efficacy and function of Fengdan

"Fairy Peony, there is a white peony in the stone cave of Changshan, more than a foot high, with two or three branches of flowers, which are gorgeous and beautiful." Fengdan, also known as Tongling Peony and Tongling Fengdan, belongs to the Jiangnan variety group. Its root bark has analgesic, antipyretic, anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory, and immune medicinal uses. It has thick roots, thick flesh, powdery feet, fine wood core, many bright stars, and long storage without deterioration. It is known as the four famous medicines of Anhui together with white peony, chrysanthemum, and Poria, and is also one of the 34 precious medicinal materials in China. So what are the effects of Fengdan? What are the effects of Fengdan? Next, let's take a detailed look at it together.

The efficacy and function of Fengdan

1. Medicinal effects

The chemical components of Fengdan include peony root, paeonol, paeonol, paeonol polysaccharide, benzoic acid, sterol, volatile oil and other substances; the content of paeonol is the main indicator for testing the quality of paeonol. The main processed product is paeonol, which is used as a drug for cardiovascular system diseases and has the functions of relaxing muscles and promoting blood circulation, clearing silt, clearing heat and cooling blood. It can also be used as an additive for daily chemical products such as toothpaste, soap, and floral water, and has great market potential in food preservation and health care.

2. Edible value

The main purpose of cultivating Fengdan is not to appreciate it, but to obtain the root bark of the peony, which is the world-famous precious Chinese medicinal material - Danpi. The farmers carefully dig out the Fengdan, pinch off the roots, remove the soil, dry it in the sun, and then start from the thinner side roots, twist the thick end to break the root bark, and then pull out the wood core. After the Danpi with the wood core is scraped, sorted, and packaged, it becomes the finished Danpi.

3. Ornamental value

Fengdan is the city flower of Tongling City. The fertile soil, suitable climate and abundant sunshine in Fenghuang Mountain are very suitable for the growth of Fengdan. The flowers of Tongling Fengdan are large and bright, mostly white, water red, and a small amount of light yellow. They are not only beautiful ornamental plants, but also widely used medicinal plants.
