Introduction to Eucommia

Eucommia ulmoides Oliver (scientific name Eucommia ulmoides Oliver), also known as bakelite, is a plant of the Eucommia family.

Eucommia ulmoides has very few free amino acids, and the small amount of protein it contains is a complete protein similar to most foods, that is, it can be hydrolyzed to detect the 8 essential amino acids for the human body. The 15 mineral elements contained in Eucommia ulmoides were determined, including trace elements such as zinc, copper, and iron, and macro elements such as calcium, phosphorus, potassium, and magnesium.

It has the effects of nourishing the liver and kidney, strengthening tendons and bones, regulating the Chong and Ren meridians, and consolidating menstruation and stabilizing pregnancy. It can treat low back and leg pain or soreness and weakness caused by kidney yang deficiency, and the instability of the fetus caused by liver qi deficiency, and scrotal wetness and itching. It is listed as a top grade in Shennong's Herbal Classic.
