Snake Bean Planting Methods and Techniques

Snake Bean Planting Methods and Techniques

Snake beans are a special plant native to the United States, and were later introduced to China. Some friends want to grow some snake beans themselves, but they don't know the planting methods and techniques of this foreign plant, and they dare not plant it blindly. In fact, the vitality of the snake bean plant is relatively strong and it is relatively easy to grow. I will summarize the planting methods and techniques of snake beans and tell you that friends who want to grow them can try it at home.

Snake Bean Planting Methods and Techniques

1. Treatment of seeds when planting snake beans

The seed coat of the snake bean plant is particularly thick, so it is necessary to carry out necessary treatment before sowing, otherwise it will be difficult to germinate. The specific treatment method is to dry the seeds for one to two days before sowing, and then soak them in hot water at about 55 degrees for three minutes. Stir the seeds constantly while blanching. After the water humidity is reduced, replace them with clean water and soak them for three days. After soaking, place them in a warm place for germination.

2. Establishment of snake bean seedling bed

The seedbed is also very important when planting snake beans. It requires five parts of garden soil, two parts of peat and three parts of organic fertilizer. After mixing them evenly, put the germinated snake bean seeds in. Cover the top with about one centimeter of soil. Cover the top with plastic wrap for insulation, and keep the outside temperature between 25 and 30 degrees. After the seedlings emerge, if the weather is warm, you can remove the outer layer of plastic wrap.

3. Planting of snake beans

After the snake bean is successfully grown, it is necessary to choose a field with soft and fertile soil for planting. When planting, an appropriate amount of organic fertilizer should be added to the soil, and sufficient water should be poured after planting to prevent water accumulation. The ideal planting time for snake beans is around mid-May each year. During its growth period, it is necessary to apply fertilizer once, pay attention to field management and water supply. As long as you can master these techniques, you will be able to grow snake beans well.
