Green Bean Planting Methods and Techniques

French beans, also known as sword beans or kidney beans, are a nutritious bean dish and the most commonly grown cash crop by many vegetable farmers. French beans do not require much for the environment and are easy to manage. They can be grown in most parts of my country. The following is some knowledge about the methods and techniques of growing French beans. Friends who want to grow French beans can study them carefully.

Green Bean Planting Methods and Techniques

1. Planting of French beans

Green beans can be sown between the beginning of spring and the rain every year. It is best to sow them around the beginning of spring, and the yield of green beans will be higher. If planted too late, the pod-setting period will encounter high humidity and the yield will be significantly reduced.

2. Fertilizer and water management of green beans

French beans are a special plant that likes dryness and is afraid of moisture. During the sowing period, the water supply must be controlled. If there is too much water, the seeds will rot and will not sprout. After the French beans sprout, if the land is dry, water can be given every five to six days. If the land is not dry, try not to water. If there is heavy rain, drainage must be carried out in time, and the French beans cannot be left in water overnight.

3. Field management of green beans

When the vines of green beans begin to grow, inter-cultivation should be carried out one or two times, and necessary weeding should be carried out. In the later stage of the growth of green beans, soil should be added, and the frequency of soil addition should be one or two times. In addition, after the vines of green beans grow, poles should be inserted in time to support the vines, which will facilitate the rapid growth of green beans.

4. Pest control of green beans

Green beans are a vegetable for human consumption. When controlling diseases and pests, we must adhere to the principle of treating the flowers but not the pods. If pests and diseases are found, medication should be used in time during the flowering period, and medication should be avoided as much as possible after the pods are formed. In addition, the harvesting of green beans is also an issue that needs attention. People should start harvesting when the seeds in the pods are not obvious. If the harvesting time is too late, the green beans will contain too much fiber, affecting the taste and its quality.
