Can pregnant women eat tomatoes? Is it good for pregnant women to eat tomatoes?

Can pregnant women eat tomatoes? Today I will tell you a few important points to note when pregnant women eat tomatoes:

Pregnant women should pay attention to three things when eating tomatoes

1. Choose tomatoes that are large, round, plump, and beautiful in appearance. Do not eat tomatoes with growths, because these growths are tumors.

2. Do not eat unripe tomatoes: Because green tomatoes contain a large amount of toxic tomatine, pregnant women will experience poisoning symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and general fatigue after eating them, which is harmful to the development of the fetus.

3. Do not eat on an empty stomach: tomatoes contain a lot of colloid, fruit quality, persimmon gum powder, soluble astringents, etc. These substances easily react chemically with stomach acid to form insoluble lumps, which block the stomach outlet and cause abdominal pain.

Suitable for

It is suitable for people with fever due to febrile disease, thirst, loss of appetite, habitual gum bleeding, anemia, dizziness, palpitations, hypertension, acute and chronic hepatitis, acute and chronic nephritis, night blindness and myopia.

Note: Patients with acute enteritis, bacillary dysentery and active ulcers should not eat it.

Selection of tomatoes

When choosing tomatoes, choose those that are pink, round, and have small white spots on the skin. They feel like they have a light powdery layer on the surface and are very tender when pinched.

The stem must be round and preferably light green. The seeds should be earthy yellow, and the flesh should be red, sandy, and juicy. Don't buy tomatoes with pointed, high or angular bottoms, or tomatoes that feel light in your hand, as these are prematurely ripened tomatoes.

The ripened tomatoes are all red, feel very hard, and look polyhedral. When you break them open, you will find that the seeds are green or have no seeds, and there is no juice in the flesh. This is the method used by vendors to ripen bananas. They apply a chemical called "ethephon" on the tomatoes. Although this chemical has low toxicity, long-term consumption is harmful to the human body.
