Pepper cultivation and planting

Pepper cultivation and planting

If it is a rainy day, how do we manage peppers? Let me tell you about it:

Cultivate and weed, apply more plant ash, reduce humidity and ventilate

Through intertillage, soil compaction is removed, soil aeration is improved, the development of pepper roots is promoted, and a good soil environment is created for pepper growth. Intertillage should be carried out during sunny and high temperature periods or before high temperatures, with shallow soil near the roots and deep soil between rows to avoid damaging the roots. After intertillage, a large number of weeds lose water and die, and it also has the effect of soil disinfection and sterilization. In combination with intertillage, adding plant ash can reduce soil moisture and increase soil nutrients.

Prune and tip branches to prevent flowers and fruits from falling

When pruning peppers, keep the main trunk and 2-3 side branches, remove all lower axillary buds, cut off inner branches, old and diseased branches, make the inner chamber ventilated and light-permeable, leave 2 leaves on branches above level 3, leave 1 fruit and 2 leaves on newly grown branches, remove the lower old and diseased leaves to promote the growth of upper branches and leaves and the elongation and expansion of fruits. At the same time, add soil again to promote new roots, and spray 2‰ urea, potassium dihydrogen phosphate and other fertilizers.

Push the plants closer together to improve field ventilation and light conditions

When peppers reach maturity, due to dense plant growth, crisscrossing branches, incomplete weed removal, or improper management, the peppers need good ventilation and light transmission conditions when they mature. If the problem of group shading is not solved by pushing the plants together, especially when it is rainy, the fruits of victory that have been harvested will fall and rot, which will directly affect the quality of maturity and cause heavy losses. Therefore, pushing the plants together is a key measure to promote the red maturity of peppers on rainy days. Pushing the plants together method: Use both hands to push the pepper plants about 5 cm from the base of the stem, push them to both sides with force, and use your feet to tamp down the roots. But be gentle and try to avoid damaging the plants and green peppers. While pushing the plants together, you can pull out weeds, pick up fallen green peppers, insect-sick peppers, and deformed peppers. Create good ventilation and light transmission conditions for peppers.
