Field management of Chinese kale

Field management of Chinese kale

Chinese kale not only has high nutritional value, but also has good medical effects. Here is an introduction to the field management of Chinese kale:

Kale

It is currently the growing season for winter kale. After planting, we must pay attention to field management, provide sufficient water and fertilizer for its growth, and do a good job of tillage and weeding.

1. Watering

Chinese kale likes moist soil conditions, but is not tolerant to waterlogging. When planting, it must be watered thoroughly to promote new roots and quickly resume growth of seedlings. The relative humidity of field soil should be kept at 80% to 90% of the saturated water holding capacity. If the leaves are bright green, oily, and less waxy, it is a sign of adequate water and good growth. If the leaves are small, dull, and waxy, it is a sign of water shortage and needs to be watered in time.

2. Topdressing

In the early stage, quick-acting nitrogen fertilizer is mainly used, and the method of applying with water or root hole application is adopted. Pay attention to small amounts and multiple times. 15 days before harvest, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers are mainly used, supplemented by foliar topdressing of organic ecological fertilizers. Water in time after each topdressing. Chinese kale has many leaves, requires a large amount of fertilizer, and has weak fertilizer absorption capacity. Therefore, it should be applied frequently. Generally, topdressing begins about one week after planting, and then topdressing is done every week. Apply 4 to 5 kg of urea per mu, 4 to 5 kg of urea when buds appear, and 5 to 10 kg of compound fertilizer. After the main stalk is harvested, 5 to 8 kg of urea can be applied per mu to promote the growth of side stalks.

3. Cultivation and soil cultivation

The most taboo for kale cultivation is soil compaction. It is very important to maintain the permeability of the roots. Therefore, intertillage should be carried out in time. In order to ensure that the root system of kale is not damaged during intertillage, soil can be properly added to the roots during intertillage. Pay attention to weeding during intertillage.
