Carotene, carotene effects

The main components of radish are carotene, vitamins, etc. Do you know the important role of carotene in the human body?

carotene

When it comes to carotene, perhaps many people don't know much about it. Most of the time we hear about vitamins. In fact, carotene and vitamins are both indispensable nutrients for the human body. In order to supplement the carotene needed by the human body, you can eat some carrots. The following editor will specially introduce to you the relevant information about the effects, functions and nutritional value. I hope it will be helpful to help you understand carotene.

The fat content in the diet will affect the absorption of . The fat in the diet forms colloids through the action of pancreatic enzymes and bile salts, dissolves in them and is absorbed together. Fat can stimulate bile secretion to emulsify fat, thereby promoting the absorption of . When dissolved in a colloidal solution, it can neither be absorbed nor break down to form esters in the absence of bile, indicating that bile not only plays a role in intestinal lumen solubilization, but also participates in the entire process of absorption, breakage and esterification of , and bile promotes the absorption of . There is no species specificity. The active substances in bile are conjugated bile acids and bile salts. The optimal concentration for promoting absorption is 0.04~0.008 mol/L. Too high a concentration will have an inhibitory effect.

Adding free fatty acids to the perfusate significantly promoted the absorption of , and oleic acid had the greatest effect on promoting absorption. After adding fatty acids, the concentration of vitamin A in serum increased significantly. Free fatty acids promoted the absorption of . Dietary fat promoted the absorption of by cells, increased the activity of intracellular cleavage enzymes, and converted to vitamin A. Although many unsaturated fatty acids also promoted the absorption of , they were weaker than oleic acid, because there was a fatty acid binding protein in the intestinal mucosal cells, and unsaturated fatty acids were more likely to bind to the fatty acid binding protein than , and this competition reduced the absorption of .

When people consume sunflower oil, which is rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids, their absorption in the small intestine is higher than that of beef tallow, which is rich in saturated fatty acids. When vitamin A is deficient, absorption by small intestinal epithelial cells decreases. However, although the absorption capacity of small intestinal mucosal cells decreases, the total absorption increases, which may be related to lymphatic absorption, indicating that vitamin A deficiency can lead to increased net absorption.

Normal requirement of carotene

1. For the average adult male, 1000 international units can prevent deficiency.

2. The recommended daily intake for girls aged 10-15 is 4,600 international units

3. The recommended daily intake for women over 16 years old is 4200 international units.

4. Adults only need to eat about 85 lemons, 1/2 carrot, 1 mango or 1 asparagus every day to meet their needs;

5. Pregnant women should pay special attention to the safe dosage to avoid birth defects. During pregnancy, it is not recommended to increase the initial intake.

6. For breastfeeding women, an additional 2,500 international units can be added in the first 6 months; and an additional 2,000 international units can be added in the last 6 months.

Precautions for carotene intake

1. If you take more than 400 IU of vitamin E per day, you should also take at least 1000 IU of carotene;

2. When taking oral contraceptives, you must reduce the amount of carotene.

3. If your three meals a week contain a lot of animal liver, carrots, spinach, sweet potatoes, and cantaloupe, there is no need to supplement carotene;

4. Do not take carotene and mineral oil together;

5. Carotene can fully exert its effect when taken with vitamin B, vitamin D, E, calcium, phosphorus and zinc (zinc is necessary to release vitamin A stored in the liver);

6. Carotene can also prevent vitamin C from being oxidized;

7. The color depth of fruits and vegetables is not an absolute indicator of the amount of vitamin A they contain.
