When cooking black rice, lily and yam porridge, you need to prepare 80 grams of black rice, 80 grams of glutinous rice, 100 grams of yam, 30 grams of lily, 10 large red dates, an appropriate amount of rock sugar, and an appropriate amount of water.

Step by step tutorial

1. Soak the prepared lilies in clean water in advance until softened. The soaking time should be more than twelve hours. Wash the prepared glutinous rice and black rice in clean water in advance and soak them for one to two hours.

2. Remove the skin of the prepared yam, wash it with clean water, and cut it into small dices. Then wash the red dates, cut them into small pieces with scissors, remove the date pits and set aside.

3. Put the soaked black rice and glutinous rice in a casserole, add appropriate amount of water, then put the cut red dates, cut yam pieces, and soaked lilies into the pot, cover the pot, and boil over high heat.

4. After boiling, lower the heat and simmer slowly. When the porridge in the pot becomes thick and soft, add the prepared rock sugar and mix well. Then simmer for more than ten minutes. Turn off the heat after all the rock sugar in the pot has melted. Don't rush to open the lid at this time.
