To make Eight Treasure Rice Pudding, you need 200 grams of glutinous rice, 200 grams of red bean paste, 20 grams of white sugar, 30 grams of cooked sesame seeds, 50 grams of raisins, three to four dried apricots, eight to ten candied dates, and an appropriate amount of osmanthus honey.

Steps to make eight-treasure rice

1. Soak the glutinous rice in water overnight, and cut all the prepared dried apricots into small cubes for later use.

2. Take out the soaked glutinous rice and put it in a small basin. Add an appropriate amount of water, just enough to cover the glutinous rice. Then steam it in a pot for 20 minutes.

3. Take out the steamed glutinous rice, add some raisins and diced dried apricots, and then add white sugar and mix well.

4. Prepare a bowl, apply cooking oil on the inside of the bowl, put four or five candied dates in it, sprinkle some cooked sesame seeds on it, put the remaining raisins and dried apricots in, and finally put the mixed glutinous rice into the bowl and press it tightly. The amount of glutinous rice should occupy one third of the bowl. Then put a layer of red bean paste on the top, and then a layer of glutinous rice on the top.

5. After pressing the glutinous rice tightly, put the bowl into the steamer and steam it over high heat for fifteen minutes. Take it out and pour the prepared osmanthus honey on it. The home-made eight-treasure rice is ready.
