How to make fish paste, vegetable and tomato porridge

1. Steam the river fish, remove the bones from the fish and mash it into paste;

2. Wash the green cabbage heart and blanch it in boiling water, then chop it into small pieces for later use;

3. After blanch the tomatoes in boiling water, peel and deseed them, chop them with a knife, add the tomatoes into the prepared broth and cook until they are soft;

4. Add rice porridge, fish paste and vegetable paste and simmer over low heat. Add cooked vegetable oil and a small amount of salt.

Nowadays, many parents want to feed their babies more fish, but they think that fish such as knife fish and squid contain too much cholesterol and are not suitable for babies. However, the cholesterol content of animal foods is generally higher. Eating a variety of vegetables and fruits while eating these foods can avoid excessive cholesterol. Do not let your baby eat fish that is not cooked thoroughly. Because fresh fish, especially freshwater fish, often have parasites. Therefore, when parents cook fish, they must cook it thoroughly and do not let babies eat raw or undercooked fish.

Fish paste has high nutritional value, is easy to eat, and does not need to worry about fish bones. Parents may think that this is the best way for babies to eat fish. Therefore, some parents let their babies eat a lot of fish paste: mix it with porridge, noodles, and give it to their babies as snacks. However, studies have shown that the fluoride content in fish paste is relatively high. If parents give their babies 10 to 12 grams of fish paste every day, the baby will absorb 8 to 16 mg of fluoride from the fish paste. Add to that the fluoride consumed from water and other foods every day, and the amount of fluoride in the baby's body will easily exceed the safe value. Fluoride accumulates in the body and can easily lead to food fluoride poisoning in babies. Many children develop fluorosis or skeletal fluorosis, which is related to excessive consumption of foods containing too much fluoride. Therefore, fish paste can be eaten, but it cannot be taken as a nutritional supplement for a long time, and it cannot be the only source of fish for babies.
