Ingredients for Gorgon Fruit Porridge

100 grams of round glutinous rice, 75 grams of water chestnuts, 80 grams of rock sugar, and an appropriate amount of water.

How to make Gorgon Fruit Porridge

1. Wash the round glutinous rice with clean water, then add appropriate amount of water and soak it for about half an hour.

2. Put the soaked glutinous rice in the porridge pot, heat it to a boil, then turn to low heat and cook for fifteen minutes.

3. While cooking the rice, wash the water chestnuts and soak them in water until soft. Then steam them in a steamer until they are cooked through before turning off the heat.

4. Add the cooked water chestnuts to the cooked glutinous rice porridge and continue to heat it for another ten minutes. When the ingredients are soft and glutinous, add the prepared rock sugar and mix well until the rock sugar is completely dissolved before turning off the heat. Simmer for a while and then take out and eat.

1. If you don’t like sweet porridge when making water chestnut porridge, you can also choose to cook ordinary rice. The method of adding water chestnut is the same as above, but you can add a small amount of salt when seasoning at the end. This flavor of porridge is especially suitable for diabetics.

2. When making Gorgon fruit porridge, it is a bit troublesome to handle the Gorgon fruit and the steaming time is relatively long. Therefore, you can steam more Gorgon fruit, then freeze it in the refrigerator, and then take it out and melt it when cooking porridge.
