Psoriasis is a chronic scaly skin disease that is prone to occur on the head, face, and extensor side of the limbs, especially the extensor side of the elbows and knees. It is often symmetrically distributed, and in severe cases, it spreads all over the body. The skin lesions are red papules or macules, which can also merge into large pieces. It has clear edges and is covered with multiple layers of dry silvery white scales. After scraping, a transparent film can be seen. After removing this film, there is a phenomenon of spot bleeding, and there are different degrees of itching, which is easy to relapse. This disease belongs to the category of diseases and symptoms such as "white psoriasis", "pine flower ringworm", and "wind ringworm" in traditional Chinese medicine.

It is mostly caused by emotional injury and eating disorders, which lead to disharmony between the spleen and stomach, internal accumulation of pathogenic heat, accumulation in the skin, and poor circulation of qi and blood. It is mainly divided into five clinical syndromes: heat entering the blood, internal accumulation of damp heat, internal obstruction of blood stasis, Chong and Ren disorders, and deficiency of the body and retention of pathogenic heat.

The clinical manifestations of blood stasis and internal obstruction syndrome include skin lesions involving joints, swollen and painful joints, limited movement, stiffness and deformity, bending that cannot be straightened, dark tongue, or ecchymosis and petechiae, and sluggish pulse.
