Introduction to Angelica and Chuanxiong Congee

Li Bin, professor of dermatology at Yueyang Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, commented:

According to TCM theory, "what's in the body will be reflected outside". Only when the body has sufficient Qi and blood and their circulation is smooth, the skin will be healthier.

The sallow complexion is mostly caused by spleen and lung qi deficiency and blood deficiency. Angelica sinensis has the function of nourishing blood and is an important blood tonic; Chuanxiong has the function of promoting blood circulation and qi, dispelling wind and relieving pain; Astragalus has the effect of replenishing qi and raising yang, and is good at replenishing the qi of the spleen and lungs. The combination of Angelica sinensis, Chuanxiong and Astragalus has the function of replenishing qi and blood, promoting qi and blood circulation, and replenishing the spleen and lungs, which is helpful for whitening the skin.

However, the properties of these three herbs are warm, so you should be careful when taking them for a long time to prevent "getting angry". If you experience dry stools or heavy menstruation, you should consider stopping taking them, or drink chrysanthemum tea, green tea, etc. during the period of taking them to prevent excessive heat. In addition, these herbs are all therapeutic drugs. If you have other diseases or are taking other drugs, you should consult a doctor before taking them.
