You also need to prepare a clean glass bottle. Disinfect the glass bottle with boiling water in advance and dry the moisture inside.

2. After washing the prepared black plums, dry the surface moisture, then remove its peel, cut off its flesh, remove the core in the middle, chop the flesh into small pieces with a knife, put it in a clean bowl, then remove the peel of the prepared fresh lemon and cut it into small pieces, mix it together with the black plum flesh.

3. Add the prepared white sugar to the processed pulp, stir well with chopsticks and marinate for 3 to 4 hours. At this time, prepare a clean stainless steel pot, put the marinated pulp directly into the stainless steel pot, heat and boil, then simmer over low heat until the pulp in the pot becomes a thick sauce, then add maltose into the pot, stir well and simmer together for more than ten minutes.

4. After the black plum jam is cooked, turn off the heat and cool it down, then put it directly into the prepared clean glass bottle, seal it and store it in the refrigerator. You can take it out and eat it anytime you want. The black plum jam can be eaten directly or with yogurt, bread and other foods.

Shelf life of black plum jam

The shelf life of homemade plum jam is between 3 and 6 months. In addition, raw water and bacteria should not be brought into the plum jam, otherwise its shelf life will be shortened. If you do not add an appropriate amount of lemon when making plum jam, its shelf life will not exceed three months.
