Do you need to wash raisins before eating? How to clean raisins?

Raisins are a common dried fruit ingredient. They are made by drying fresh grapes and drying them in the sun. They can be eaten directly or used to make porridge or various desserts. But do you need to wash them before eating? If you need to wash them, how can you wash them clean?

Do you need to wash raisins before eating them?

Raisins need to be washed before eating. It should be said that washing is healthier because during the processing and drying process, the surface of the grapes will absorb some dust or dirt nearby. If they are not washed, these substances will enter the human body, which is not only unhygienic but also harmful to health.

How to wash raisins

1. Wash with starch

Raisins are most cleanly washed with starch. When washing, you can prepare an appropriate amount of clean water, then add an appropriate amount of starch, mix the water evenly with your hands, then put the prepared raisins into the water, stir it with your hands for a while to allow the grapes to fully contact with the starch water, and finally take out the raisins and wash them with clean water. After removing the water, they can be eaten.

2. Wash with boiling water

The cleanest way to wash raisins is to use boiling water. You can put water in a pot, heat it to a boil, then put the raisins into the boiling water, stir it evenly with chopsticks, and after about two minutes, take out the raisins, remove the water and put them on a plate. After it cools down, you will find that the surface of the raisins becomes particularly clean.

3. Wash with warm water

Raisins can be cleaned with warm water. The best way is to put an appropriate amount of warm water in a basin, then put the raisins to be cleaned into the water, and stir them constantly with your hands for at least three minutes. This will allow the raisins to fully contact with the warm water and wash away all the dirt on their surface. Finally, take them out and rinse them with running water. After removing the water, you can eat them as needed.
