The Dos and Don'ts of Danli

Suitable for people

It is edible for the general population, especially for pregnant women, the elderly, people with weak constitutions, and those recovering from illness; it is also suitable for those with anemia, cold stomach, and bad breath.

Not suitable for people

People with yin deficiency and excessive fire should be careful when taking it. People who are suffering from acne, sores, colds, or acute inflammation should not eat Danli, as it will aggravate the symptoms, especially children.

People with diabetes should use Danli with caution.
Drivers should be careful when eating litchi. Eating a large amount of litchi and eating very little can easily cause sudden hypoglycemia, resulting in dizziness, thirst, nausea, sweating, stomach pain, palpitations, etc. In severe cases, coma, convulsions, irregular breathing, arrhythmia, etc. may occur, which is called "litchi disease". The human body consumes a lot of calories when driving, and the calories in the human body mainly come from the sugars in food. Studies have found that if drivers eat too much litchi before or while driving, not only will they fail to replenish sugar in time, but will increase the risk of traffic accidents. After eating litchi, if you experience symptoms such as hunger, weakness, dizziness, etc., you should quickly take sugar water or sugar cubes orally, and you will generally recover quickly. Those who show signs of poisoning should go to the hospital for treatment in time.

Fresh lychees should not be eaten on an empty stomach. Fresh lychees have a high sugar content, and eating them on an empty stomach will irritate the gastric mucosa, causing stomach pain and bloating. Moreover, eating too many fresh lychees on an empty stomach can cause "hyperosmotic coma" due to the sudden infiltration of excessive high sugar into the body.

It is not advisable to eat too much Danli. How to eat Danli without getting angry

1. Enjoying "Dew-drop Red Litchi" without getting irritated, that is, eating the red lychees just picked from the tree before dawn when the dew has not yet subsided, will not cause irritation. It is said that the red lychees have absorbed a day's sunshine and have been warm and cool overnight, so their heat has subsided. Each red lychee is in the best state of being fragrant, sweet, fresh and crisp. Not only is it delicious, but you will not get irritated no matter how much you eat.

2. Put the freshly picked lychees in a container and sink them in a well or cold spring (water). Eat them overnight to prevent getting angry. They can also dispel dryness and replenish Yin. The great Qing Dynasty poet Qu Dajun wrote in a poem: "The cold spring in the dew well is a hundred feet deep. After picking them, they sink in the well overnight. The sun's essence turns into the cold moonlight. Eating more can replenish Taiyin."

3. Drinking some salt water, herbal tea with summer cypress, or winter melon soup, mung bean soup, etc. before eating lychee can prevent getting angry. Or drinking more salt water while eating lychee, or using 20-30 grams of raw earth to cook lean meat or pork bone soup, or boil water with candied dates to drink, can prevent lychee disease.

4. Eat salted fish. Take Caobai salted fish and steam it and eat it with rice, or cook it into soup or porridge. It can prevent and treat getting a sore throat from eating lychees.

5. Boil fresh lychee leaves and lychee shells in water and drink it to prevent and treat sore throat caused by eating lychees.
6. Eating litchi from the east tree can reduce dryness. Litchi is a long-day fruit tree that prefers the west sun, and the fruit matures from the west. People who know how to taste litchi pick and eat litchi from the west, because litchi from this direction are particularly sweet. People who are afraid of getting angry pick and eat litchi from the east, because litchi that has been exposed to the "west slanting heat" will nourish and dry out the body, which is not something everyone can stand. However, litchi that has been exposed to the gentle east sun will nourish without causing dryness.
7. When eating litchi, eat the thin white membrane after peeling the shell together with the flesh to avoid getting angry. The membrane is a bit astringent, but when you chew the flesh, it will suddenly become sweet. After eating litchi, eat the white stem-like part of the litchi that is concave into the flesh. Eating 2-3 litchis in a row can also effectively prevent getting angry.

In fact, the most important thing is not to eat too much Danli.

Now everyone knows Danli.
