Tips on how to wash fruits to remove pesticide residues

Fruits have become an indispensable part of our daily life and are very nutritious. However, there are always some pollutants and residual pesticides on the surface of fruits. If they are not cleaned thoroughly, they will harm our health. Today we will discuss some tips on how to wash fruits to remove pesticide residues.

Tips on how to wash fruits to remove pesticide residues

1. Wrap with flour

Simply wash the fruits in advance, sprinkle a handful of flour on the surface of the fruits, and then rub them with your hands. Because wet flour is sticky, it can remove the pesticide residues on the surface of the fruits. Then rinse them with clean water.

2. Wash with salt water

This method takes a long time, about half an hour. First wash the fruit with clean water 2-3 times, then soak it in light salt water for half an hour, and then rinse it with clean water to wash away the pesticides remaining on the fruit skin. Such as: grapes, strawberries, peaches, etc.

3. Wash with alkaline water

First, rinse the dirt off the surface of the fruit, then soak it in alkaline water for 15 minutes, and then rinse it with clean water.

4. Storage method

Some fruits can be stored for a long time. During this period of time, the pesticides on the fruit skin will slowly decompose into substances that are harmless to the human body, and the amount of pesticide residue will become much less. When eating, you only need to wash it clean. For example, fruits that are easy to store, such as apples, kiwis, and pomegranates.

5. Wash with rice water

Rice water is the most natural cleaning agent. Soak the fruit in rice water for 10 minutes and then rinse it with clean water. This will reduce the residual pesticides on the fruit. Just rinse it several times with water to clean it.

6. Running water flushing method

Another method is to use running water to continuously wash away the residual pesticides on the surface of the fruit, but you need to soak it in clean water for 15 minutes and then rinse it with running water two or three times. This way, the running water will slowly wash away the pesticides on the surface.
