Chestnuts can be stored in the refrigerator. After purchasing chestnuts, you can wash them clean, remove the moisture on the surface, wrap them with plastic wrap, and then put them in the refrigerator. The chestnuts can be stored for two or three months without deterioration.

2. Preserve chestnuts with sand

Chestnuts can be preserved with sand. Usually, you can spread about ten centimeters of wet sand in a cool room, then put a layer of chestnuts, and then put a layer of wet sand, and repeat this process. Finally, cover them with another layer of wet sand. Pay attention to spraying water to keep them moist. This can keep the chestnuts preserved for a long time and they will be especially fresh when you eat them.

3. Store chestnuts in plastic bags

Usually, chestnuts that have been air-dried can be stored in plastic bags. The plastic bags need to have multiple small holes. Then put the chestnuts into the bag and place it in a well-ventilated room. If the room temperature exceeds ten degrees, the bag opening must be opened. If it is below ten degrees, the bag opening can be tied tightly.
