Strawberry Introduction

Strawberry, also known as red berry, foreign berry, ground berry, etc., is a red fruit. Strawberry plant morphology

Perennial herb, sturdy, densely clump, 5-25cm high. Stem densely covered with yellow-brown soft hairs, almost as long as leaves. Leaves are ternate; petiole 4-18cm long, densely covered with yellow-brown silky soft hairs; leaflets with short petioles; leaflets obovate or elliptical, 1-5cm long, 0.8-3cm wide, obtuse at the tip, terminal leaflet base cuneate, lateral leaflet base oblique, margin with notched serrations, serrations with acute or obtuse tips, dark green above, sparsely covered with soft hairs, light green below, covered with yellow-brown silky soft hairs, long and dense hairs along the veins. Cymes with 1 to 6 flowers; one or three petiolate leaflets at the bottom of the inflorescence; pedicels with spreading yellow silky pubescence; bisexual flowers, 1 to 2 cm in diameter, sepals ovate-lanceolate, wider or nearly equal to the epicalyx, epicalyx lanceolate, entire or 2-lobed, enlarged when fruiting; 5 petals, round, with short claws at the base, white; 20 stamens, unequal length. Aggregate fruit round, white, pale yellow or red, persistent sepals erect, close to the fruit; achenes ovate, smooth. Flowering period April to July, fruiting period June to August.
