[Composition] 300 black plums, 6 liang of asarum, 10 liang of dried ginger, 16 liang of coptis root, 4 liang of angelica root, 6 liang of aconite (peeled and roasted), 4 liang of Sichuan pepper, cinnamon twig (peeled), 6 liang of ginseng and phellodendron.

[Formula] ① Wumei Pill contains asarum and cinnamon, ginseng, aconite, pepper, cypress, ginger, lian and angelica; it can cure ascariasis, syncope and chronic dysentery, and is the second most precious formula for calming ascariasis and relieving pain. ② Wumei Pill uses asarum and cinnamon, ginseng, aconite, pepper, ginger, coptis, phellodendron and angelica, which is a warming agent for calming ascariasis and relieving cold syncope.

【Function】Warming the internal organs and expelling roundworms

[Indications] Typhoid fever, diarrhea, abdominal pain, chronic diarrhea, refractory to all medicines, lasting for decades; chronic malaria, alternating chills and fever, lasting for years, and emaciation; also treats fatigue malaria; cold and fever, fatigue malaria, long-term refractory to the disease, emaciation, phlegm in the chest, decreased appetite, or due to long-distance travel, long-term hard labor, and long-term unhealed symptoms.

[Usage] Soak black plums in bitter wine (i.e. vinegar) overnight, remove the core, steam and mash into a paste; grind the remaining medicine into fine powder, mix it with the black plum paste, and make it into pills as big as sycamore seeds. Take 7-9 grams each time, three times a day. Avoid eating raw, cold, slippery, and smelly food.

【Recipe explanation】

This prescription is composed of 10 herbs. It is mainly used to treat ascariasis, chronic dysentery, and headache caused by mixed cold and heat, ascaris. The sour taste of the plum in the prescription is used in large quantities after being soaked in bitter wine and vinegar. It can calm ascaris and relieve pain, so it is the main medicine. Ascaris is caused by cold in the internal organs, so dried ginger, aconite, asarum, Sichuan pepper, and cinnamon twig are used to warm the kidney and spleen to eliminate the cold in the internal organs; and all five herbs are pungent, and plum can control ascaris, among which asarum and Sichuan pepper are more effective in killing insects, so they can help black plum calm ascaris and relieve pain; ascariasis will inevitably damage qi and blood, so ginseng is used to invigorate qi and angelica is used to nourish blood, and they are combined to strengthen the body and replenish deficiency; all are auxiliary medicines. Coptis chinensis and Phellodendron chinense are used to clear heat with bitterness and coldness, and they can also control pungent and hot medicines to prevent the disadvantages of damaging yin and moving fire, and they are bitter and can expel ascaris.
