What is flower soil? What should I do if there are bugs in the flower soil?

Flower seedlings generally grow in the soil. Whether they grow well or not is not only related to water and fertilizer, but also has a great relationship with the soil quality. After years of research and development, many flowers are now planted with flower soil. However, some friends found that there were bugs in the flower soil after buying it. What should they do?

What is flower soil

Flower soil is actually soil specially prepared for certain flowers. It is very suitable for the cultivation of these flowers. Flower soil is generally very loose, breathable, and has strong drainage. Different types of flowers require different types of flower soil. At present, there are different types of flower soil, including garden soil, culture soil, peat soil, etc.

What to do if there are bugs in the soil

1. Use eggshells to prevent insects

If there are bugs in the flower soil, they will crawl out of the soil and eat the flowers. To prevent bugs, you can collect the eggshells of the eggs you usually eat, wash them with water, drain the water, and then crush them into crumbs and spread them on the flower soil. The surface of these egg shells is sharp, which can scratch caterpillars, snails and other insects, preventing them from crawling up.

2. Sun exposure

If there are bugs in the soil, you can spread the soil in the sun, spread it into a thin layer, and after it is exposed to the sun, the bugs in the soil can be driven away. Bugs are generally not resistant to the sun and will escape on their own. When it is exposed to the sun, you can also turn the soil frequently, so that the soil can be fully exposed to the sun and the eggs inside can also be killed.

3. Use boiling water

Another way to deal with this kind of flower soil with insects is to use boiling water. After boiling the water, immediately pour the boiling water on the flower soil, which can scald the insects and eggs inside to death. In addition, you can also use pesticides and other drugs to kill the insects inside.
