How to grow ornamental bamboo? How to grow ornamental bamboo

1. Prepare nutrient soil

When cultivating ornamental bamboo, you must prepare nutrient soil in advance. This plant likes slightly acidic soil, and cannot use clay or alkaline soil. In addition, the nutrient soil must be loose, fertile and well-drained. Usually, you can use red and yellow loam, leaf mold and fine sand to prepare nutrient soil.

2. Planting

When planting ornamental bamboo, you can dig out the beautifully shaped ornamental bamboo from the soil, bring more soil with it, and ensure that the whip buds and roots are intact. After digging it out, put it in a cool place and dry it in the shade for two to three days, then plant it in the prepared nutrient soil and water it enough after planting.

Things to note when growing ornamental bamboo

1. Fertilization

Fertilization is something people must pay attention to when cultivating ornamental bamboo. It likes sufficient fertilizer during its growth period, but fertilization must be done with decomposed organic fertilizer. When making nutrient soil, more than 10% organic fertilizer must be applied as base fertilizer. Only in this way can the necessary nutrients be provided for the normal growth of ornamental bamboo.

2. Moisture

When cultivating ornamental bamboo, special attention should be paid to water supply. This plant likes moisture but is afraid of waterlogging. It should be watered in time after it is planted. It should not be over-watered during its normal growth period. Just keep the soil in the pot moist. If it is watered too much, its stems and roots will rot, which will affect its normal growth.

3. Environmental Adjustment

When cultivating ornamental bamboo, you must also pay attention to environmental adjustment. Its cultivation environment is different in different seasons. In the hot summer weather, it should be moved to a cool environment and not exposed to the sun. During this period, you should also spray water on its leaves in time. After entering the cold winter weather, it needs to be moved to a warm environment with leeward wind. Only in this way can the ornamental bamboo safely spend the winter.
