Schefflera is an evergreen small tree, also known as the auspicious tree. This plant has many branches, and the branches are dense. It has palmate compound leaves with a shiny surface and are mostly leathery. In the past, this plant only grew in tropical regions of America, and was later introduced to all parts of the world. It is now cultivated in large quantities in most parts of the country.

Cutting method of Schefflera

1. Cutting temperature and time

When propagating Schefflera by cuttings, you must choose the right time and control the temperature. This plant is suitable for propagation by cuttings in late spring and early summer each year. At this time, it is best to control the temperature at around 20 degrees, and the night temperature should not be lower than 15 degrees.

2. Selection of cuttings

The selection of branches for Schefflera arborvitae is also very important when it comes to cuttings. It is best to cut healthy branches of about 15 cm in length from the Schefflera arborvitae. After cutting, remove the leaves below the top, leaving only three to four leaves at the top. In addition, the lower end of the branch should be cut into an inclined surface.

3. Selection of soil for cuttings

When cutting Schefflera, you must also choose suitable soil. It likes loose and fertile soil. You can choose perlite and clean river sand as the substrate. After putting them in the flowerpots, you must water them enough, and then insert the branches of Schefflera into the flowerpots. One to three branches can be cut in each pot.

4. Management after cutting

It is also very important to manage the Schefflera after cuttings. It must be sprayed with water in time and the soil must be kept moist. At the same time, it should be placed in a place with weak sunlight indoors, and the indoor temperature should be kept between 15 and 25 degrees. As long as these conditions are met, the cuttings of the Schefflera branches will take root and grow new leaves after a month.
