How to preserve roses How to preserve roses

Roses are beautiful and fragrant, and are a symbol of love. Many people receive beautiful roses, especially on Valentine's Day. But roses often wither after being kept at home for only a few days. What can we do? How should fresh roses be preserved?

1. Save with vc

Fresh roses can be preserved with VC. You can put them in a vase, add an appropriate amount of water, then grind a piece of VC and put it in the water. Then cut an inclined surface on the rose stem and put it directly into the water. This will keep the roses fresh for a longer period of time. However, during the storage period, you should spray water on the petals and leaves with a spray bottle every day.

2. Preserve with beer

Beer, which people often drink, can also be used to preserve fresh roses. Put the roses in the water of the vase, and put about 20 grams of beer. Beer itself contains ethanol, which can sterilize the cut of the roses. It also contains some sugars and other nutrients, which can provide sufficient nutrients for the branches and leaves of the roses, so that the roses can stay fresh.

3. Soak in salt water

Fresh roses can also be soaked in salt water, which can also extend their shelf life, because edible salt can prevent the growth of bacteria in the water, disinfect the broken ends of the rose stems, and allow them to maintain a good water absorption capacity. After absorbing sufficient water, the roses can remain in full bloom and bright for a long time. However, when soaking roses in salt water, the concentration of salt water should not be too high, and should not exceed 5% at most, otherwise it will accelerate the withering of the roses.

4. Soak in tea

Before putting fresh roses into the vase, you can pour tea into the vase, and then insert the rose stems into the tea and soak them. This will allow them to absorb more nutrients and keep the flowers bright and tender. In addition, please note that when using tea to preserve roses, the thicker the tea, the better the preservation effect.
