Orchid cultivation methods and precautions

Orchid cultivation methods and precautions

Plum, orchid, bamboo and chrysanthemum are known as the four gentlemen among flowers. Among them, orchid is green in color. In people's minds, it is the embodiment of righteousness and a symbol of beauty and auspiciousness in the world. It is people's favorite ornamental plant to grow. It is also one of the top ten famous flowers in China. However, orchid is relatively delicate and it is not easy to grow. Not only do you need to master its cultivation methods but also know what to pay attention to when growing it. Now I will talk to you about this knowledge.

Farming methods

1. Suitable temperature and humidity

Orchids can only grow vigorously at a suitable temperature. When the outside temperature is between 18 and 30 degrees, it grows fastest. When the temperature is below five degrees or above 35 degrees, it will grow slowly. If the indoor temperature is below zero, the orchid will be frostbitten or die. Orchids like a humid environment. The humidity of the air should be kept between 60% and 70%. Too much will cause disease, and too dry will make its leaves turn yellow.

2. Environment selection

If you want to grow orchids well, you must place them in a suitable environment. Orchids prefer shade to yang, so they must not be placed under strong light. The sunlight is relatively mild around the Qingming Festival, so you can let the orchids get more sunlight, which can promote its rooting and germination. But after entering summer, you must move the orchids to a semi-shaded environment to avoid being burned by strong light.

3. Suitable soil

When growing orchids, they can only grow vigorously if they are planted in suitable soil. They like fertile and loose soil with high humus content. It is best to choose leaf mold and add vermiculite and perlite to make a loose, fertile and well-ventilated culture soil. In addition, it is important to pay attention to the pH value of the potting soil to maintain a slightly acidic pH value. Alkaline soil is not conducive to the growth of orchids.

Precautions

When growing orchids, you must pay attention to disease prevention and control. Orchid leaf spot and anthracnose are both high-risk diseases. After these diseases occur, in addition to spraying the corresponding medicines in time, you must also keep the orchid cultivation environment ventilated and light-permeable, and remove the diseased dead leaves in time.
