How to grow Kalanchoe? How to grow Kalanchoe and what to pay attention to

Around the Spring Festival every year, a large number of longevity flowers appear in the flower market. The flowers are colorful and shiny, with high ornamental value and auspicious meanings. People like to buy potted plants to grow at home. However, many people do not know how to grow longevity flowers, nor do they know what to pay attention to when growing longevity flowers. As a result, the longevity flowers they bought die after being grown at home for a short time. What can we do?

Farming methods

Kalanchoe is a green flowering plant that likes a warm, humid, sunny environment. It usually likes to grow in a warm environment between 15 and 25 degrees. When the temperature is above 30 degrees, it will grow slowly, and when it is below 10 degrees, it will stop growing. In addition, Kalanchoe needs to be given sufficient light. If the light is insufficient, the plant will grow too tall, or the branches will be weak, the leaves will be thin, and the number of flowers will be significantly reduced, which will significantly reduce its ornamental value.

Precautions

1. Sunlight adjustment

Sunlight regulation is the most important thing people should pay attention to when growing Kalanchoe. Kalanchoe likes plenty of sunlight, but it cannot be placed in an environment with direct sunlight all year round. Especially after entering summer, the sunlight is strong, and it should be properly shaded around noon, or moved indoors, otherwise the strong sunlight will make the leaves of Kalanchoe turn yellow.

2. Change the pot in time

Although Kalanchoe is a perennial herb, its old roots will rot after two years of cultivation. In order to make Kalanchoe grow stronger, it should be repotted every 1 to 2 years. When repotting, its rotten old roots should be cut off. If the plant is too large, it can be divided, which will make the growth of Kalanchoe more vigorous. In addition, when cultivating Kalanchoe in winter, you must pay attention to cold protection. The indoor temperature of the Kalanchoe should not be lower than ten degrees, otherwise its leaves will turn red and it will affect the flowering period.
