How long does it take to steam crabs? How to steam crabs

Crab is one of the most popular seafoods. Steaming crabs is the most common way to eat them. But how long does it take to steam crabs? How to steam crabs to make them taste best? This is the question that many people are most concerned about. If you also want to eat crabs, quickly follow me to find out.

Put crabs of medium size into the pot after the water boils, and then keep the water boiling and steam them for about 20 minutes. This will kill the parasites and bacteria in the crabs, and the crab meat and crab roe will also be cooked through. You can take them out and eat them directly after turning off the heat. However, if you encounter particularly large crabs, you will need to increase the steaming time appropriately, but it should not exceed half an hour.

Material

When steaming crabs, you need to prepare one kilogram of fresh crabs, 15 grams of rice wine, 30 grams of minced ginger, and 20 grams of soy sauce. In addition, you need to prepare appropriate amounts of sugar, MSG, sesame oil, and balsamic vinegar.

Steamed crab steps

1. Clean the crabs. When cleaning, you can pinch the two sides of the large cover at the base of the two rows of legs with your hands, and then use a toothbrush to scrub its surface, especially the belly and navel cover. Wash them well and put them in a container after washing.

2. Put the minced ginger in a small bowl, then put soy sauce, sugar, MSG and butter in a pot, heat and boil, pour over the minced ginger and mix well. Put the vinegar in another small bowl and set aside.

3. Put the washed crabs into the pot and place them on the steamer. Heat them to a boil and then steam them for 20 minutes. When the crab shell inside turns bright red, the crab meat inside will be cooked. At this time, take out the steamed crabs and put them in the pot. Put the prepared seasonings and balsamic vinegar on the table, and you can directly take out the crab meat and dip it in the seasoning.

Precautions

When steaming crabs, be sure to steam them whole, otherwise the crabs will lose most of their flavor! In addition, dead crabs must never be steamed or eaten, otherwise food poisoning will occur.
