Pea seedlings can be cultivated in spring, summer and autumn. Today I will tell you about the four-season cultivation techniques of peas: 1. Select a location.Pea seedlings have deep roots, are more drought-resistant, and are not tolerant to moisture. It is best to choose a place where no leguminous crops have been planted in the past 3 to 4 years, with high terrain, convenient drainage and irrigation, fertile, loose, neutral to slightly alkaline soil for planting. 2. Sow seeds at the right time.Pea seedlings are cold-resistant but not heat-resistant, and the optimum temperature for seed germination is 18-20℃. Except for summer, it can be cultivated all year round. It can be sown in early spring from February to March and September to October in southern regions, and from the end of October to January of the following year in warm regions. 3. Sowing and transplanting.Apply 1500kg of decomposed pig manure, 30kg of superphosphate and 10kg of potassium chloride as base fertilizer for every 667 square meters of land, then cultivate the land and make 1.5m wide beds. Then make holes on the bed surface, with a plant spacing of 5-25cm and a row spacing of 40-50cm. Use spot sowing, sow 5-6 seeds in each hole, and use 10-12kg of seeds for every 667 square meters. Transplant when the seedlings are 8-10cm tall and have 2-4 true leaves. 4. Strengthen management① Top dressing. Top dressing should be mainly quick-acting nitrogen fertilizer, which should be applied twice before harvest and once after each harvest. ② Watering. Pea seedlings should avoid waterlogging, so you should pay attention to clearing ditches and draining water to prevent root rot. If there is a long drought, you should water it to keep the soil moist. ③ Intertillage. Shallow intertillage should be performed during the seedling stage. Appropriate soil should be added after rain and fertilization. Weeds should be removed and weeds should be guided to prevent them from growing into the furrows to avoid being stepped on during field operations. ④ Disease control. Common diseases of pea seedlings include powdery mildew, yellow spot disease, yellow top disease, etc., which can be controlled by spraying 1200 times of 70% thiophanate-methyl solution, 1000 times of 50% carbendazim solution, or 800 times of 70% thiophanate-methyl solution. 5. Harvest in batches.30 to 50 days after sowing, start picking the tender shoots when the seedlings are 16 to 20 cm tall, that is, pick the upper tender shoots together with 1 to 2 young leaves that have not yet unfolded. After that, harvest once every 15 to 20 days, and generally can be harvested 6 to 10 times. |
