Main diseases and pests of hot pepper and their control methods

Today I will tell you about the main diseases and pests of hot peppers and their prevention and control methods:

1. Pepper blight

Pepper blight mainly harms leaves, fruits and stems, especially the base of the stem. The pathogen overwinters in the soil or in diseased remains as oospores, and is spread by wind, rain, irrigation and other agricultural activities. After the disease occurs, new sporangia can be produced, forming zoospores for reinfection. Continuous cropping, low-lying land, poor drainage, excessive use of nitrogen fertilizer, excessive density and weak plants are all conducive to the occurrence and spread of the disease.

Prevention and treatment methods:

(1) Implement crop rotation, deep plowing and then spraying 800 times diluted new lipid film, apply appropriate amount of nitrogen fertilizer to improve soil structure, enhance fertilizer and water retention, promote root development and make plants strong.

(2) Before and on the day of planting the pepper seedlings, spray them twice to sterilize and disinfect them, so that the seedlings are clean when they are planted indoors and the occurrence of diseases is reduced.

(3) Combine foliar fertilization with the prevention and control of other diseases and insect pests, and spray peppers with Pepper Zhuangdi Ling in time during the flowering, growth, and maturity periods to improve the adaptability and stress resistance of tomato plants, increase photosynthetic efficiency, and promote plant health. Regulate the relationship between plant vegetative growth and reproductive growth, promote plant health, improve nutritional levels, and enhance disease resistance.

(4) Cover the ground with film, strengthen ventilation, and adjust the temperature and relative humidity of the greenhouse to maintain the temperature at 25-30℃ during the day and 14-18℃ at night. The relative humidity of the air should be controlled below 70% to facilitate the normal growth and development of tomatoes and the infection and development of diseases, thereby achieving the purpose of preventing and controlling diseases.

(5) In terms of chemical control, soil disinfection should be done before planting, combined with tillage, and spraying of 800 times diluted New High Lipid Film to kill residual pathogens in the soil. After planting, spray 1000 times diluted Tree Protector General in a timely manner to protect and prevent disease. If the disease has already begun, the following agents can be used: 70% metalaxyl mancozeb or 70% ethylene phosphate aluminum mancozeb 500 times diluted, 25% Ridomil 600 times + 85% ethylene phosphate aluminum 500 times diluted, 75% thiophanate-methyl 800 times diluted, etc. The above liquids need to be used alternately to improve the efficacy, enhance the plant's resistance to stress, and improve the control effect.
