Loofah has high medicinal value

Luffa contains xylan, mannan, galactan, etc. The water decoction has obvious analgesic, sedative and anti-inflammatory effects. Clinical studies have shown that luffa has certain therapeutic effects in the internal and external treatment of acute mastitis, herpes zoster ophthalmicus, thyroid adenoma, etc.

According to the theory of traditional Chinese medicine, this herb is sweet and mild in nature, and enters the lung, stomach, and liver meridians. It is an excellent product for medical and dietary therapy, and has the effects of dredging meridians, activating collaterals, clearing away heat and resolving phlegm. The "New Compendium of Materia Medica" records that it "dredges meridians, harmonizes blood vessels, resolves phlegm and relieves qi", and can be used for:

① Rheumatic arthralgia. This product is good at dispelling wind and unblocking collaterals, but its medicinal power is mild, so it is often used in compound prescriptions. It is used to treat rheumatic arthralgia, tendon spasm, and limb paralysis. It is often used in combination with Gentiana macrophylla, Saposhnikovia divaricata, Angelica sinensis, Millettia reticulata, etc.

② Chest and flank pain. This product can enter the liver to activate blood circulation and dredge collaterals. It is often used for chest and flank pain caused by blood stasis. It is often used with Bupleurum, Cyperus, Trichosanthes peel, Curcuma, etc.

③ Milk obstruction and mastitis. This product is light and smooth, good at unblocking milk channels. It is used to treat postpartum milk deficiency or milk obstruction. It is often used with fenugreek, fennel, pangolin, pig's trotter, etc.; for mastitis swelling and pain, it is often used with dandelion, Fritillaria thunbergii, Trichosanthes kirilowii, green peel, etc. In addition, this product can also treat traumatic injuries and chest pain.
