1. Chongli broad beans:

Strong spring, early maturity, full growth period of 100-110 days, few branches, white flowers, 2-3 effective branches, plant height 80-100cm, 8-10 pods per plant, 2-3 grains per pod, 100-grain weight about 120g. Grains are narrow and round, with milky white seed coat. Grains contain 24.0% protein, 1.5% fat, and 1.55% lysine. This variety has a compact plant shape, suitable for dense planting, likes fertilizer and water, has good yield, generally 150-200kg per mu, and the highest yield is 280kg.

2. Lincan No. 5:

Spring-sown broad bean variety. The growth period is about 125 days, the number of branches is generally 2-3, the weight of 100 grains is about 180g, and the seed coat is milky white. It has the characteristics of high yield, high quality, large grains, strong resistance to adversity, etc. It is suitable for high-fertilizer and water cultivation, has a well-developed root system, and is resistant to lodging. The average yield per mu is about 350kg. It is a high-quality variety for both grain and vegetable use.

3. Lincan 204:

Spring-sown broad bean variety, with a growth period of about 120 days, 2-3 branches, low pod-setting position, and 100-grain weight of about 160g. It has the characteristics of high yield, high quality, and large grains. It has wide adaptability and strong stress resistance. The average yield per mu is about 350kg, and the highest yield per mu is 420kg. It is a high-quality variety for export and foreign exchange earning.

4. Linxia Horse Teeth

:Spring nature is strong. It is an excellent local variety in Linxia Prefecture, Gansu Province, named for its large grains that resemble horse teeth. The whole growth period is 155-170 days, and it is a late-maturing variety. The seed coat of this variety is milky white, the weight of 100 grains is 170g, and the protein content of the grains is 25.6%. It has strong adaptability and high and stable yields. The average yield is 350kg/mu, and the maximum can reach 500kg/mu. It is suitable for planting on land with high fertility. It is an important broad bean export commodity in China.

5. Linxia Broad Beans:

Spring sowing type. This variety has a milky white seed coat, 100-grain weight of about 160g, grain protein content of 27.9%, and an average yield of 250-300kg/mu. It likes water and tolerates fertilizers, has good yield and strong adaptability. It can be planted in the Sichuan and Shanyin areas at an altitude of 1700-2600m. It began to be widely promoted in Gansu Province in 1981. It is suitable for planting in the main broad bean producing areas in the north.

6. Qinghai No. 3:

Spring-sown broad bean variety, with high yield, high quality, large grains, strong branching, low pod-setting position, and not easy to crack. The seed coat is milky white, the weight of 100 grains is about 160g, the protein content of the grains is 24.3%, and the fat content is 1.2%. It has a well-developed root system and is resistant to lodging. It likes water and tolerates fertilizers. It is suitable for planting in areas with warmer climates and good irrigation conditions. The highest yield per mu is 400~450kg. It is currently the popular variety of spring broad beans in the region.

7. Qinghai No. 9:

Spring-sown broad bean variety, with high yield, high quality, and extra large grains. It has strong branching, low pod-setting position, and is not easy to crack. The seed coat is milky white, and the weight of 100 grains is about 200g. It has a well-developed root system, tall plants, hard stems, and is resistant to lodging. It likes water and tolerates fertilizers. It is suitable for planting in areas with warmer climates and good irrigation conditions. The highest yield per mu is 440~480kg. It is currently the popular variety of spring broad beans in the region.

8. Huangyuan Horse Teeth:

Spring sowing type. This variety has a milky white seed coat and weighs about 160g per 100 seeds. It is a large seed variety and an excellent local variety in Qinghai Province. Huangyuan Ma Ya has a long history of cultivation and has strong adaptability, high and stable yield. It is distributed in areas with an altitude of 1800~3000m. The general yield in water land is 250~350kg/mu, and in mountainous areas it is 150~200kg/mu. It is a major export commodity of broad beans in China. It is suitable for planting in the main broad bean producing areas in the north.

9. Japanese silkworm:

Spring-sown broad bean variety, introduced by the Institute of Varieties and Resources of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. The growth period is about 120 days, the flowers are white, the pods are low, the pods are many, the branches are few, and the number of grains per pod is generally 4-5. The pods are not easy to crack. The weight of 100 grains is more than 150g, the seed coat is milky white, and the average yield per mu is about 300kg. It has strong resistance to adversity and is a high-quality variety for both grain and vegetable.

10. Silkworm Tasting D:

Spring-sown broad bean variety, with a growth period of about 125 days. It has the characteristics of high yield, high quality, small grains, drought and barrenness resistance. It generally has 2 to 3 branches, 18 to 29 pods per plant, 2 to 3 grains per pod, 50 to 60g weight per 100 grains, milky white seed coat, 28.36% seed protein content, low seed tannin content, and does not contain alkaloids such as fava glycosides. The plant height is 115 to 156 cm, and the average yield per mu is 300 kg, and the highest is 350 to 400 kg. It is a good variety for both grain and feed. It is suitable for promotion and planting in the main broad bean producing areas in the north.
