Mushroom Pest Control Technology

Mushroom Pest Control Technology

No matter what food you eat, it has side effects. When we grow vegetables or fungi, we will encounter various pests. So today I will tell you about the pest control methods of shiitake mushrooms:

1. Protect the inoculation port

The inoculation port is one of the most vulnerable parts for pests and diseases. During the inoculation period in recent years, mushroom mosquitoes have been rampant. Therefore, it is required to be fully sealed with wax or stickers for protection, or it can be protected by bagging.

2. Puncture and release the air during the first puncture

, the method of puncturing with iron nails should be changed to puncturing with fine needles. The puncture site and depth remain unchanged, but the number of punctures can be appropriately increased

3. Chemical protection

One day before and one week after puncturing, use the "agricultural mosquito coils" made by the Qingyuan County Edible Fungi Research Center to kill the adult mosquitoes in the storage area and reduce the insect population density.

Insecticides mixed with water can also be used for spraying in non-living room storage areas. A 3-jin handheld sprayer can be used. For storage areas connected to living rooms, low-toxic pyrethroid pesticides can be used, such as cypermethrin, bromothrin, cypermethrin, etc. It is best to use disposable hygienic insecticides, such as Radar, Gunner, and Miebailing. Pay attention to the safety of people and animals.

4. Treatment of harmful spots

For mushroom sticks that are damaged early, the damage spots will continue to expand with the formation of mixed fungi and insects, often causing the entire section to be destroyed. Therefore, early inspection and early treatment are important measures to reduce losses. The specific methods are as follows:

Combined with turning the pile or normal operation, carefully check the mushroom sticks. If the inoculation port or puncture unit is found to be partially black, it should be removed and treated in time. The treatment method is to completely dig out the blackened part (i.e. the damaged spot), fill it with the same variety of mushroom blocks, and then seal it with wide plastic tape. The mushroom blocks used for filling can be selected from the discarded mushroom tubes, but the mushroom blocks must be intact and free of infection.

5. Other prevention and control measures

In addition to the above methods, farmers who have the conditions can install screen doors and windows to prevent insects, and can also use damp waste mushroom sticks with pesticides to lure and kill them.

6. Improve the cultivation environment

The deterioration of the cultivation environment is also one of the main reasons for the outbreak of mushroom mosquitoes and other pests in recent years. To improve the cultivation environment, the following points should be achieved:

① Timely demolition of old mushroom sheds and promotion of the use of sunshade nets;

② Use quicklime or bleaching powder to kill insects and sterilize before the mushroom sticks enter the greenhouse;

③ The waste chaff is processed centrally and can be used as fertilizer after being fermented in piles. 5% lime water is poured on the pile surface and the fermentation time is two months;

④ The environment around the mushroom shed or storage area must be kept clean, and domestic garbage, animal excrement, sludge and dirty water, or discarded mushroom sticks must be cleaned up in a timely manner.
