Bagua Tai Chi Chinese Yam Porridge

Introduction: The tuber of Dioscorea zingiberensis, a herbaceous plant of the Dioscoreaceae family. It is also known as yam, sweet potato, Huai yam, jade yam, and white potato. It is distributed in Henan, Hebei, Shandong, Shanxi, central and southern China, and southwest China, and is cultivated in most areas. After harvesting, cut off the root head, wash it, scrape off the skin with a bamboo knife, and use it fresh or dry it for later use.

The efficacy of Bagua Tai Chi Huaishan Yao Congee

[Properties] Sweet in taste, neutral in nature. Can nourish the spleen and stomach, and benefit the lungs and kidneys.

[Reference] Contains choline, triterpenoid saponins, allantoin, starch, amino acids and other ingredients.

[Use] Used for weak spleen and stomach, reduced appetite, loose stools and diarrhea; leukorrhea due to spleen deficiency in women; chronic cough and dry throat due to lung deficiency; spermatorrhea and frequent urination due to kidney deficiency; thirst and excessive drinking.

[Usage] Decoction, cooking, making into pills, powder, etc.

Bagua Taiji Chinese Yam Porridge with Recipe

1. Chinese Yam and Red Dates Porridge: 60g Chinese yam, cut into granules, 30g red dates, appropriate amount of polished rice, add water and cook into porridge. Season with sugar and serve.

This recipe uses Chinese yam and jujube to nourish the spleen and stomach, and jujube can nourish the blood. It is used for weak spleen and stomach, reduced appetite, indigestion and blood deficiency.

2. Yam powder: Fry half of the dried yam and use the other half raw, grind into fine powder. Take 30g each time, add appropriate amount of sugar, and mix with rice drink.

Yam is half fried and half raw, which can nourish spleen qi and spleen yin. "Bai Yi Xuan Fang" is used for lockjaw dysentery, spleen yang (qi) and spleen yin are damaged, vomiting, nausea, and inability to eat; "Pu Ji Fang" is used to treat spleen and stomach weakness, vomiting, loss of appetite, and abdominal distension.
