But before storing fresh cherries in the refrigerator, you should keep their stems, which can effectively extend their shelf life and ensure that the cherries will not deteriorate within 20 days. 3. Cook and store In addition to the two preservation methods mentioned above, for fresh cherries, you can also boil them in water for half an hour, then add an appropriate amount of white sugar, mix well and continue cooking. Turn off the heat after the water boils again. This way you can get cherry sweet soup, which is easier to preserve, and the cherries inside can maintain a fresh taste. You can just take it out and eat it when you want to eat it. 4. Make cherry wine for preservation The shelf life of fresh cherries is relatively short, so you can make them into cherry wine and then preserve them. When making cherry wine with them, you need to prepare high-quality rice wine, then wash the surface of the cherries with clean water, drain the water and soak them directly in the rice wine. This way, the cherries will not deteriorate and the taste of the rice wine will become better.
