How to choose fruit when traveling

Nowadays, people cannot live without fruits every day. Even when traveling, they have to eat fruits. However, there are some things to pay attention to when eating fruits when going out.

Fruits are nutritious and delicious. Some can quench thirst, clear away heat and relieve restlessness, some can strengthen the stomach and help digestion, and some can treat certain diseases. Therefore, fruits are an indispensable food in travel life. How can we eat hygienically and scientifically?

1. Clean thoroughly

Before eating fruits, it is best to disinfect them by soaking them in 0.1% potassium permanganate or 0.2% bleach solution for 5 to 10 minutes and then rinsing them with clean water. If you blanch them in boiling water for about half a minute, it will also have a sterilizing effect. Some fruits can be rinsed in cold water before peeling and eating, which can not only remove bacteria attached to the skin, but also avoid ingesting pesticides remaining on the skin.

2. "Four Don'ts":

① Do not eat unripe fruits, because such fruits contain a lot of tannins, taste bitter and unpalatable.

② Do not pick wild fruits that you do not recognize, because some of them are harmful to the human body.

③ Do not eat rotten or spoiled fruits, because there are a large number of bacteria multiplying in such fruits, which can easily cause illness after eating.

④ Do not peel and eat nuts casually, because some nuts contain toxic substances (such as bitter apricot kernels, loquat kernels, etc.), which can cause poisoning after eating.

3. Pay attention to the properties and therapeutic effects of fruits

Some sour fruits help digestion, such as hawthorn, papaya, loquat, and sour apples, pears, grapes, etc., which are suitable for eating after meals. Some fruits, such as ginkgo, can cause poisoning and must be eaten cooked. Pineapple can cause allergic reactions in some people. Eating persimmons improperly can cause gastric stones, etc., so you must be careful.

People have learned from long-term experience that different fruits have different properties, which are generally divided into moist, cool and neutral. If you can choose food according to your physical condition, it will be more beneficial to your health. For example, if you are usually weak, afraid of cold, have cold hands and feet, and have loose stools, the so-called "weak and cold body", you should choose warm or neutral fruits; on the contrary, if you have dry mouth, irritability, dry stools, etc., the so-called "getting angry" or "rising false fire", you should choose cool fruits.

5 Properties of common fruits:

Warm fruits: hawthorn, cherry, pomegranate, lychee, green fruit, papaya, ginkgo, etc.

Cool fruits: watermelon, melon, pear, tangerine, orange, banana, mulberry, persimmon, water chestnut, etc.

Neutral fruits: grapes, apples, peaches, apricots, pineapples, longans, sugar cane, black plums, etc.
