Fan Chengda of the Southern Song Dynasty recorded in "Guihai Yuhengzhi" (12th century) that "jackfruit is as big as a winter melon, peel it and eat it, it tastes very sweet."

In addition, jackfruit trees are generally tall, and the roots of old trees can even span the road. It is normal for them to be more than ten meters long, and they often protrude to the ground and can be used as benches.

Jackfruit is native to India, a tropical Asian country, and is widely cultivated in tropical humid areas. It is now produced in China, India, Indochina, the South Pacific Islands, Bangladesh, Brazil, etc. It is cultivated in Hainan, Guangdong, Guangxi, southeastern Yunnan, Fujian, and southern Chongqing in Lingnan, my country.

Jackfruit grows in any soil, but deep sandy soil is best. Fertile soil will allow it to grow very quickly. Good drainage and sufficient sunshine are required. It likes high temperature and high humidity, and the optimum temperature for growth is 22℃～23℃.
