The therapeutic effects of cantaloupe

Nature and flavor: Muskmelon is sweet, cold, and non-toxic; the melon pedicle is bitter, cold, and toxic. Meridians: Enter the stomach, lungs, and large intestine. Efficacy: Muskmelon clears away heat, relieves summer heat, and quenches thirst; Muskmelon seeds clear heat, detoxify, and act as a diuretic; Muskmelon pedicles induce vomiting of chest phlegm and poisonous food, or can be used as an external medicine. Indications: Muskmelon treats summer heat and thirst; Muskmelon seeds treat intestinal abscesses and lung abscesses; Muskmelon pedicles are used externally to treat acute icteric infectious hepatitis, rhinitis, and nasal constriction.

Prescription reference:

1. Wash the cantaloupe and eat as much as you want to relieve summer heat.

2. Add appropriate amount of white sugar to 30 grams of melon seeds, mash and grind into powder, take with warm water to treat intestinal abscess and lung abscess.

3. 15 grams of melon seeds, 30 grams of stir-fried whole angelica, 3 grams of snake skin, dry and grind into powder, take 10 grams each time, three times a day, to treat intestinal abscess (appendicitis).

4. Mash the cantaloupe leaves and apply them to the affected area to treat tinea capitis.

5. Burn the cantaloupe stem to preserve its nature, grind it into powder, and use it together with asarum powder. Take a small amount and blow it into the nose three times a day to treat chronic hypertrophic rhinitis and nasal constriction.

6. Dry and grind the cantaloupe stems. Use 0.1 gram each time and divide it into three portions. First, use one portion to deeply inhale from both nostrils. After about 40 minutes, clean the nasal cavity and inhale another portion. After another 40 minutes, inhale the last portion. Seven days later, use the same method to inhale 0.1 gram. Inhaling 0.4 grams is a course of treatment for jaundice or non-icteric infectious hepatitis and cirrhosis. Generally, two courses of treatment are sufficient for chronic hepatitis; if cirrhosis is present, three to five courses are required. After inhaling the medicine, a large amount of yellow water flows out of the nasal cavity, up to 100 ml each time. When inhaling the medicine, the patient's head must be forward to make the yellow water drip out, and never swallow it to avoid diarrhea. Sometimes headaches, chills, fever, similar to cold symptoms, or increased liver and spleen pain occur. Such symptoms will disappear naturally after one day.
