How to make black plum jam

How to make black plum jam

Choose darker black plums. The darker the color, the redder the jam will be.

Cut into small pieces (the color of ripe black plums is dark red, if the black plums are not too ripe, the inside will be white when cut), add sugar, stir well, and leave overnight.

After one night, pour the black plums into the pot (remember the pot must be stainless steel or non-stick. Do not use iron, which will change color)

Slowly cook over low heat until thickened. Because the fruit itself has a sweet and sour taste, I did not add any other additives

Black plum jam steps

1. The production of jam depends on the characteristics of the fruit itself. If the fruit you choose has rich flesh, the frying process will be greatly reduced. The fruit flavor will be stronger. If the fruit you choose has more juice (such as pears and grapes, it will take more time and patience to make)

2. I have made many varieties of jams. Among these varieties, my favorites are apple, tomato, strawberry and black plum. (These kinds of jams take a short time to make and taste good.)

3. In fact, making jam is very simple. Just cut your favorite fruit into small pieces, add sugar to let the pectin seep out, and cook it slowly in a small pot.

4. For this jam, I didn’t add maltose and lemon in order to save trouble and keep it simple.

5. It’s just sugar and fruit, so please eat it as soon as possible after making it.

There are many ways to eat black plums

There are many ways to eat jam. The most common way is to spread it on bread or steamed buns. You can also add a little jam and pour boiled water on it to make a glass of natural juice. It tastes great. It is much better than those juices on the market.

Not all fruits can be made into jam simply by adding sugar; the consistency of the fruit pulp should be considered.
