How to make honey grapefruit tea

1. Apply a layer of salt on the grapefruit and brush it clean; peel the grapefruit skin, which is the essence of grapefruit's expectorant and cough-relieving properties.

2. Peel the pomelo flesh and tear it into small pieces; cut the peeled yellow skin into thin strips about 3 cm long and 1 mm thick, the thinner the better; put the cut pomelo peel into salt water and marinate for 1 hour.

3. Put the pickled pomelo peel into clean water and cook over medium heat for 10 minutes until it softens and removes the bitterness.

4. Put the processed pomelo peel and pulp into a clean, oil-free pot, add a small bowl of water and rock sugar, and simmer over medium-low heat for 1 hour until it becomes viscous and the pomelo peel is golden and translucent. Note that you should stir frequently during simmering to prevent it from sticking to the pot.

5. After it cools down, add honey and stir well to make honey grapefruit tea. Put it into a sealed can and store it in the refrigerator. Just rinse it with warm water when drinking.
