How and when to plant calla lilies

1. Planting

Calla lily is an ornamental plant that can be planted in many different ways. The most common planting method is sowing, which is carried out in August and September in autumn. When planting, the Calla lily seeds should be placed in the clear in advance, and loose, fertile and well-breathable soil should be prepared for it. After soaking the prepared seeds, put them directly into the prepared nutrient soil, cover the top with one centimeter thick soil, and then water it enough. The temperature should be controlled between 18 and 24 degrees. The seeds will germinate in about three weeks. After it grows into seedlings, manage it carefully and the Calla lily will grow slowly.

2. Division

Calla lilies can also be controlled by dividing them, which can be done in conjunction with repotting in autumn. Around October each autumn, you can remove the Calla lilies you have planted from the pots, cut off the small tubers growing on their roots, disinfect them and place them in a ventilated place for 3 to 5 days, then plant them directly in new pots. After watering them enough, place them in a warm environment of about 20 degrees. It will take root in about ten days, and it will enter a rapid growth period after the spring of the following year.
