Pickled pepper cod is a local specialty in Northeast China. It uses fresh cod as the main ingredient and adds pickled peppers and other condiments. It is sour, spicy, tender and delicious. Ingredients for pickled pepper cod

When making pickled pepper cod, you need to prepare 1,500 grams of cod, pickled peppers, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, sugar, light soy sauce and other seasonings in appropriate amounts. Finally, you also need to prepare bean paste, pepper powder, green onions, cooking wine and chicken powder.

Steps to cook pickled pepper cod

1. Wash the prepared cod with clean water, cut it into two to three centimeter thick segments, then add cooking wine, pepper, salt and other seasonings to marinate. The marinating time should be about half an hour.

2. Peel and wash the green onions, cut into sections, wash the ginger and cut into shreds, peel the garlic and flatten it with a knife. Add cooking oil to the pot and heat it.

3. Put the prepared bean paste, pickled peppers, chili rings and dried peppercorns into the pot and stir-fry until fragrant. Then add light soy sauce, stir well, then add appropriate amount of water and bring to a boil.

4. After boiling, put the cod pieces into the pot, add salt, sugar, vinegar and other seasonings, bring to a boil over high heat, then simmer over low heat for 20 minutes to allow the soup to concentrate. Finally, add chicken powder to enhance the flavor, take out and serve in a bowl.
